I'm fairly new to this so I would like to run this concept by the community and see if it would work, and if so, if it would be practical. I would want to set up a standalone unit with a large HDD (probably about 1TB). I would want to download movies to this unit through my local network from my PC, therefore keeping my PC hard drive free while have the XBMC unit carry all of the storage and making it portable.
Of course my second course of action would be to buy a external drive and run it back and forth from my pc. Thanks for any feedback.
