Does anybody knows which files are exactly created where when exporting the video library from XBMC to separated files?
I've found multiple descriptions, but they are all very vague. They say that nfo and associated image files are stored next to the videofiles. Like here in the wiki.

I want to know the exact filenames and locations. Partly because I want my settings in emm-r to look for the files created by the xbmc export.
Ember has the following options:

Which ones correspond with the files created by the "export video library" in XBMC ?
I'm wondering why you don't just export your library and then setup Ember, you can change settings in ember any time you like

But here's what I got when exporting

Movie

Posters:

<movie>.tbn

Fanart:

<movie>-fanart.jpg

NFO:

<movie>.nfo

TV

Show Posters:

folder.jpg

Show Fanart:

TV Show NFO:

tvshow.nfo

Episode Posters:

<ep>.tbn

Episode NFO:

<ep>.nfo
Thanks a lot for your answer.

My folders are quite messed up with a lot of metadatafiles after experimenting with ember, mcm, export in xbmc,...

I'm a little confused about which file is created/updated by which process. So I was looking for some clarification.

One other question.
If you choose <movie> in the ember settings, what exactly will ember use ?
I doubt about three possibilities:
* the foldername (if you did select "use foldernames for initial listing"
* the filename of the associated videofile
* the official moviename as found by the scraper
Its the filename of associated video file the same applies to <ep>
I think MCM is the only program that creates files XBMC doesnt use like files that are for Windows Media Center like movie.nfo*

not 100% sure but I believe XBMC doesnt use, or read from, movie.nfo. <moviename>.nfo yes, it uses that one....

If each movie is in its own folder you don't need the filename it can use

movie.nfo
movie.tbn
movie-trailer.mov

Thats all I use Smile
