Hi,

I finally built my first HTPC, and I'm struggling with it for 2 days now. Smile
I have installed Ubuntu 10.10 (it didn't completly work on 11.04) minimal version, and then xbmc-pvr. Now I had 2 general problems, before I go any further with VDR and other things.

1. When I tried to open any music it was just rebooting XBMC.
I solved that problem by installing libmad.so.0, because crashlog said:
Code:
21:58:30 T:3021076912 M:4017053696   DEBUG: SECTION:LoadDLL(libmad.so.0)
21:58:30 T:3021076912 M:4017053696   DEBUG: Loading: libmad.so.0
21:58:30 T:3021076912 M:4017053696   ERROR: Unable to load libmad.so.0, reason: libmad.so.0: cannot open shared object file: $
21:58:30 T:3021076912 M:4017053696   DEBUG: Dll libmad.so.0 was not found in path

2. This is much worse...
My HTPC is:
MOBO: GA-Z68MA-D2H-B3
PCU: i3-2100 3.1GHz
GPU: ASUS GeForce GT520 1GB DDR3
RAM: DDR3 2x 2GB HyperX Kingston CL7
PSU: be quiet! 400W
ans other stuff.
The point is, that I can't get sound on my nVidia card. It show that the movie is going on, music is going on, but sound at all. I did everythin according to wiki xbmc, but no joy.
Can anybody help me with that? My wife will kill me soon... Smile
Thanks i advance.Nerd

OK, I have finally solved it! I don't know how that happened (I started to do stupid things), but I believe, I have installed some new drivers from ALSA and then forgot to reboot. After reboot 1 more HD Nvidia audio appeared. I changed the address in /etc/aosund.conf and ~/.asoundrc and it started to work! Smile

Now VDR.........
