How do I get XBMC to either alert me of or just go ahead and remove missing media?

If I "Update library" it seems to only look for NEW content and doesn't do anything with missing content?

Sometimes I may just choose to discard a TV show, or a song...

clean library in video/audio settings.

or add the <cleanonupdate> advancedsetting.
