So I have an older version of XBMC installed that I would like to update. I quickly did a search and didn't find anything that helped me.

I'm not really strong in Linux but was able to set everything up on my Shuttle without too much trouble. The version of XBMC I am running is back from December 2010. I'm having issues with the twit.tv plugin and heard that updating seems to have fixed the buffering problems.

Can anyone point me into the right directions to updating my install?

See my signature below for my system details.

Thanks in advance for any help.
either SSH or switch terminal (ctrl alt f2)

then

sudo apt-get update

then

sudo apt-get install xbmc

then sudo reboot

Very cool, thank you.

I assume it's only updating the core components, right? I don't have to worry about the update wiping out any driver configurations I have. Getting some of the stuff to function originally was a pain in the ass on this Shuttle. Smile
Everything worked great and now the twit.tv plugin is working perfectly.

Rockin' 10.1 now.

Thanks!
