Could be video drivers.

When I first installed XBMC my menus were very slow. Needed to install the restricted Nvidia drivers. Very fast after that.
Cant find that machine anywhere, can you provide a link?

You may only need to upgrade video drivers.

\\Edit topic tittle machine says asrock E350M1 <==exists

on posts it says
Asrock E250M1 <==doesnt exist

So you need to upgrade your ATI drivers...

try this

on a terminal type

Code:
sudo add-apt repository ppa:x3lectric/vaapi
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade

sudo reboot

If that doesnt fix it I dont know.

Why you using FAT partitions?
using the live cd on that board, you need to install the ATI Catalyst 11.4 drivers. here's my post outlining all that I've done with that exact board to get it working good.

At the very least, it will serve for a good starting point for you.
Thats a kludged way to update video drivers, once he gets a kernel upgrade it will break this again so he has to redo the whole lot again...

Via ppa there's no fuss, its builds everything automatically no matter what.
i had install ati driver (download the ATI web site) now the xbox's menu is very very fast.....(i will test in play mode)
i create two 32 fat partitions because i will to test my media centre with seven+xbox
I will use picasa skype ( i not found plugin)
