I have used the search and still cant get my tv folders to update.

Here are the steps i have followed so far..

put files into TV Shows > TVshow > Season > FilenameE00S00.AVI format

Set source to TV and scraper to http://www.thetvdb.com

I can see on the debug info that the scraper does find the media and goes out and looks for all the info but my tv show libary doesnt update?

i am sure it is something simple but i seem to be going round in circles :confused2:

here is my debug output if anyone can take a quick look.

in the set content screen do you have run automatic scan checked? if not, check that.
also, try this:

C:\Media\TV Shows\amazing race\The Amazing Race US\
C:\Media\TV Shows\amazing race\The Amazing Race US\Season 1\
etc.
thanks for the reply, i have checked both of them and the libary still wont update.

for some reason the libary seems to show just one folder (american dad) bud doesnt show the episode within it :confused2:

no matter what changes i make to the tv folder the libary just keeps the same.

is there anyway to manually force an update on it?
There is no episode 19 of season 6 of American Dad. See the EpisodeList in your log there.

It added the Amazing Race episodes fine according to your logs.

What is the problem EXACTLY?

Search your log for that file and check the episodelist and the detection info that it spits out.
American Dad is one of the TV shows that the 'scene' and The TV DB disagree on. Trust me, have fun on naming that one.
yours=FilenameE00S00.AVI format

Try=File name.s0e01.AVI

All i wanted it to do it update the libary so that i can go Video > Tv show > Then displays all the banner art for each individual show so i can select it and view the episodes.

I can browse all the shows using the file browser and it does have smaller thumbs showing on those but i would have thought the TV libary browser would update at the same time?

+1

http://www.therenamer.com/ cant fail

scrapers can be set to scrape TV show banners or poster it doesnt do it by episode or seasons.
thanks, the renamer looks like a pretty usefull tool, i have renamed the epsodes to that format but the libary still wont show the tv show :confused2:

This problem is only when i go into the Tv show libary, all it shows is ...
using file browser i can see the tv shows fine but i was hoping to get it nicer looking like http://stiggyblog.files.wordpress.com/20...hot000.png

the episodes do look like they are bing added to the tv show DB ok, looking at the debug the following line for breaking bad looks like it has updated fine..

VideoInfoScanner: Adding new item to tvshows:C:\Media\TV Shows\Breaking Bad\Season 1\breaking bad.s01e02.avi

i would have thought the above would mean i could then go to the TV show Libary and start the file from there?

i have attached another debug script, this time where i have added breaking bad season 1. i have prevously added this season but this time i have tried renaming the 1st two files in the show name.e00s00.avi format so it has rescanned them.

or am i doing this completely wrong? i am just assuming to view the tv shows in libary mode you would just go to video > tv shows and it would display the shows rather than the ... it shows now?
looks like the problem is now fixed!

seems the "hide watched" option was ticked and hiding all the episodes..

*hangs head in shame...

Thanks for all the info though and i am sure the file renamer will be handy for all my other episodes!

TVDB is correct. They agree with the listings on the FOX/American Dad website.
I am having the exact same problem, only when i clicked hide watched (it was unclicked to begin with) it hid all shows that didnt have episodes in them.

nevermind figured everything out
