Good to hear that seems to have worked for you Smile

Edit: Cheers for the merged update 0wing, seems to be working fine, in combination with the latest LAV here. Very nice and low CPU usage a lot of the time now they've implemented proper DXVA2 into LAV Smile
Seems to play everything now, with one downside.

I followed the steps here - http://forum.xbmc.org/showpost.php?p...&postcount=875

Getting through all of that was a bit overwhelming at first (new to most of this). Looking back on it seems not so bad now. When it came to the actual settings for FFDSHOW and LAV there was so much I just assumed default was ok. I also have no idea if LAV filters are the way to go, I went with them since they were mentioned. But basically I just left FFDSHOW and LAV configurations at default, I assume that's ok?

I'm able to play 10-bit with excellent quality but I've noticed one draw back to DS Player. I'm unable to manually select a point in the show with the mouse. Whenever I attempt this it kicks the episode back to the very beginning. I can still jump ahead 30 seconds with right arrow, but I cannot click and drag or even just click a random point on the episode timeline. Any ideas how to fix that or is that just an issue with DS Player? I did confirm that with the same episode using the default DVD Player I can navigate freely, of course the video quality is poor with it since it was a 10bit file.

At first I wasn't able to play any files through DS Player. I had to change one thing from the "pre-setup DSPlayer XML files pack", I had to manually edit the mediasconfig.xml for all file types. I had to edit the video filter for each file type to read - <video filter="ffdvideodec" /> where alexrose1uk has it set to <video filter="lavvideo"/>. None of the files will play through DS Player with the video filter set to lavvideo for me. Do I need to change a configuration setting in the LAV video configuration perhaps? I have no idea if one or the other nets a higher quality or is preferred over the other. Should I just leave it as is?

Most importantly - Is the inability to navigate in the movie/tv when playing the file through DS Player just a flaw in DS Player or is there something I can do to correct this?

Any advice that can be offered is greatly appreciated. Laugh
anyone have any ideas why i can't use this and get smooth playback? using lav and reclock, same settings for vsync as i used in mpc-hc before switching to madvr and its just jitter city.
@Hypknox: You're not the only one.

I don't know of any solution, so far. In my case XBMC crashes when I try to seek. Thankfully, I don't really use that function.

I have this problem too, and the crashes, these are the only reasons backing me up from using this as main player.

Yea I agree. The most stable version for me was XBMCSetup-20111121-211825c-dx. Now I find myself using DanielaE's version without DSPlayer. It's not as clear but less lock ups and crashes.
I've been using this branch mainly for the truehd features but I can't seem to get it working.
My setup is a windows 7 pc based on an AMD A6-3500 which is connected to my yamaha rx-v667 av which goes to my projector on one side and my 7.1 setup.
When I select analog audio, all audio plays fine but there is no TrueHD or DTS-MA light that comes on in my receiver.
When i select HDMI for the audio, there is none.
Am I missing some additional setup here?

Also, new versions, just run the installer again and install over the old?
Found something with consistency now:
Senki Zesshou Symphogear 06 769E643A

It crashes toward the end soon after the 2 girls start fighting. It does this consistently.
I watched the ReinWeiss version a few dayso ago, but checked the last 5 mins of the original Commie one just now and had no crashes.
Today I am going to try to setup MPC as an external player for mkv files. I will then also configure MPC to use exactly the same filter configuration as DS player does for mkv files. This will lead to the same playback quality which is what I care about and will prove if the issues I am having are unique to DSplayer or not once and for all.

(I will be using the x64 MPC)

Done, now I use the exact same filters except that I had to install the 64bit ffd audio to get that working correctly. I also use vsfilter for the subs.

seems to be kind of a waste, why not use x32 mpc and use madvr.
Then it would not show if my issues are tied to the player or the filters. Also I still have yet to hear what is supposed to be so great about madvr I have never seen a comparison or anything for it so I just wonder...

In my personal case I just use coreavc vs lav b/c I found the quality of coreavc to look better with regard to edges which is important in anime.

Since making this change I have not had any crashing or any other issues yet. So I am standing by my claim that something is wrong with the DSplayer subtitle engine that causes them to vanish and the player to crash.

Thanks a ton for this amazing post; just got Hi10P playback working great on my AMD APU based box. Just one quick followup; DSplayer + LAV Filters seem to handle everything I throw at it with the following exception:

Plays fine on my setup. I have yet to find a mkv file that causes me any problems. Seems like an interesting series btw.
