Full Version: Issue With Latest Seas0nPass Jailbreak

I jailbroke my ATV2 to the latest firmware using the latest Seas0nPass tool. The jailbreak went fine, I SSH in and installed NitoTV and proceeded to install my usual stuff including XBMC. That all went great.

Problem is after I install the official XBMC and I try to install the latest Nightly build. On the PuTTy screen I am able to download the Nightly and I execute the command to install it and it always gets stuck at the preparing to install step. No error messages, it will not proceed any further from that screen.

After a long while I reboot my ATV2 and on the FrontRow menu where it used to say XBMC it now says "CFBundleName". XBMC still works but at that point I am dead in the water, I can't re-install the official build or uninstall it. My only option at that point is to re-jailbreak. I've done it 3 times now.

The URL's where I get the Nightly's to try are:
http://xbmc.hadm.net/
http://mirrors.xbmc.org/nightlies/darwin/atv2/

I've Googled this and searched these forums and haven't ran across anyone having a similar problem.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

I can't tell if that is similar to my problem not alot of info or instruction is given.
yes, that is your problem. Read the post at the end of that link and you are good to go...
Got it, worked like a charm. My next question is do we now have to run "rm –r /Applications/XBMC.frappliance" before each time we upgrade to a new nightly?
Seems so...

I don't know what crashed the rm -rf on that folder. Is it the new firmware itself or the specific jailbreak? We will have to find that out when other options exist. Until then we have to do as I described.
