I've never had this problem before but on a few new mkv's I have been experiencing garbled playback. The playback is fine when using VLC but cannot get to work with XBMC. Any ideas?

I hope I did that right.

You either need to turn off DXVA acceleration or run a recent nightly as a fix went in not long ago.

Try disabling hardware acceleration (System settings, Video, Playback). There are problems with the hardware acceleration on Intel video chips.
