Full Version: [LINUX] XBMC 10.1 crash when attempting to play Video files

My first post, am seeking help after searching forum and not finding a resolution. Will provide more information based on replies.

Problem:
==> XBMC crashes(coredump) when trying to view Videos on local disk.
==> Other media players like mplayer or vlc seem to play the same videos okay.

uname -a
==> Linux d6-fx 3.0.0-1-amd64 #1 SMP Sat Aug 27 16:21:11 UTC 2011 x86_64 GNU/Linux

Linux Distribution and Version:
==> Running Debian Linux, the wheezy/sid release (updated as of Sep 1, 2011)

Architecture
==> x86_64

Install Method
==> Repository: deb http://www.debian-multimedia.org wheezy main non-free

SVN Revision
==> XBMC 10.1 Git:Unknown (Compiled : August 17, 2011)

Detailed Instructions to Reproduce the Problem
==> 1. Execute xbmc at terminal prompt: ~$ xbmc
==> 2. Select menu "Videos"; then try to select local video file; crashes xbmc.
