G'day Guys,
I was watching Avatar today (BD rip) and the latest stable version of XBMC seems to crash around the times that Na'vi subtitles are displayed.
Note sure if this is a mac specific issue or not, but I don't have any windows machines to test it on.
I've pasted the crash log here....

Cheers,
David
I've also tested it on the most recent nightly build and the problem exists there are well.

I can confirm that it crashes as well. Ripped the Director's cut with the alternate beginning. It crashes right around 14m43s I think, right where the good Doc asks how is Norm's Na'Vi. As Norm starts answering in Na'Vi: May the Great Mother smile upon our first meeting. (grabbed this from Wiki - 'Awvea ultxari ohengeyä, nawma sa’nok lrrtok siveiyi." ) it crashes.
I actually could not pinpoint any particular reason why it would crash but it then made sense when I saw this post. It also crashed at various other places. Very annoying. I'll put a paste bin log as soon as I come back from work.

Not to gripe but the latest available 10.1 Dharma download, which I just reinstalled still shows the same version. Are we supposed to use the nightly builds?!?

If you don't want to crash, yes.

Well, I downloaded the latest nightly build, installed it and it crashed again. Here's the new pastebin file. What do I use to extract a section of the MKV that I have? It's a 40GB file, so dropbox would be

cut a sample that shows the problem, then dropbox it.

MKVMerge can be used to snip a small time sequence out of a larger MKV file.

and the sample file: http://www.mediafire.com/?u909apdqrqqqev8. Sorry did not know dev team email for dropbox

Describe your setup.
Player: Mac Mini mid 2010, Lion 10.7.1 (11B26), 2.4GHz, 4GB 1067Mhz, NVidia GeForce 320M.
Connection: Gbit FTP connection via Cisco switches to 18TB NAS running FreeNAS 0.7.2 Sabanda (revision 5543); OS version FreeBSD 7.3-RELEASE-p3 (revision 199506).
XBMC: using the Sept 12 build as advised - XBMC pre-11.0, git20110912-ad5b5ce; Kernel detected as Darwin 11.1.0.
TV: Samsung 46" LN46C670M1F, 1.4a HDMI cable between Mini and TV.
And I do not know what the git trunk HEAD means. Sorry, I know it has something to do with a repository for files for XBMC but beyond that. I do not even know where to look for it.
