Hey guys,

I have just built a new box to run XBMC and have put a TV tuner in it so I can watch TV without changing input sources on the TV itself, also so I can record shows etc,

How do I get it to work within XBMC?

Running Win7 with ver 10.1
you install software that lets you watch TV via the TV tuner. XBMC does not directly interface with tuners, but only acts as a front end to the software that does. Even then what you are looking for are the features of the XBMC PVR build, which is still very much in development, but many people feel comfortable with using daily.

I don't know much more about the topic myself. Check out the PVR dev sub-forum for more info. I know using TVheadend as the software for the tuner is a popular choice, but TVheadend is linux only. I'm sure there are also Windows 7 options as well.
I use my HDHomeRun. It works for basic TV viewing (no guide or recording, just viewing).

I "capture" the streams. What tuner do you use?
