for some odd reason i thought i would run:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade

and it went smooth until it was done, (i was asked a few times if i wanted to keep or replace existing config files, i chose replace after comparing and seeing it was just a few diff's)

on reboot i get the very rough looking ubuntu loading which quickly reports an error about nForce2 smbus and ultimately fails on a popup box so small i cant read the writing.

anyone have a quick fix for me to get back to where i was?

Thanks,

well i figured it out, if you're originating install was an XBMCFreak image for some reason:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade

will break it.

But if you want the nvidia drivers bundled (like me) and the newest version your best bet is probably to download the newest XBMCFreak tweaked image.

Although i did find posts for adding the drivers after the normal XBMC iso install each time i tried it went from bad to worse lol
