I have an original iPad, 16GB, WiFi only...I tried installing XBMC on it a few months ago...and finally was successful.
However, it was extremely slow, to the point of being not worth using. Menu lags, lots of buffering...
I'm about to try again. Are there some tips to make this go a little better this time?

Also, the quality of your access point is crucial.
I use Xbmc on Ipad2 and was experiencing a lot of caching. Then I bought one of these:

And buffering was a thing of the past.
Now I watch all my TV-shows on the Ipad with a bluetooth headset, and I will never look back...

Thanks.
My router is a Netgear WNR2000v2, which is not the best router out there. For my wired setups, it works very well. I have no issues streaming to 2 ATV2s. I do have a large number of devices on my wireless network (iPad, 6 laptops, 6 iPhones) and a PC, 2xATV2s, XBOX360, and a DIRECTV box on my wired network. Of course not all are on and accessing at the same time.
I do plan on upgrading the router soon. I am looking at the new netgear 3800 as soon as it's available at my local best buy.
