I have just installed XBMC alongside mediaportal on my mediacentre. Although I love the interface the refresh rate behaviour is driving me mad. My default refresh rate is 50hz (1080p). When I run XBMC the basic interface runs at 100fps (as displayed by the debug report). if I play a video the frame rate changes to 50Hz (screen blanks and restarts, debug reports 50fps) but as soon as I use the XBMC interface with picture in small windows the frame rate refresh rate changes again....basically its flipping back and forth.

Not sure what changes to make but surely when the XBMC interface overlays a video the frame rate should remain whatever the videos frame rate is?

any advice would be appreciated

It's probably better to implement it that way, but currently it goes back to the default refreshrate when you go back to the gui.

Fps goes 100 because vsync is turned off, it's the render fps, not the refreshrate.
