I'm planning to put together my Windows 7 HTPC this weekend, to replace the somewhat disappointing ATV2.

I want to transfer my library data over to the new box, but here's the problem: the export video library function crashes the ATV2 whenever I try to use it, so I always get an incomplete archive.

Can I instead copy the Library folder straight out of the ATV2 via FTP and paste it into my W7 XBMC installation, or am I going to run into issues doing it that way? I can't think of another way to get my data swapped over without having to do it all manually.
Yep, should work. Just make sure the Windows 7 box is also running a nightly version of XBMC.

This is also a good way to set up an ATV2 box or any other XBMC. Set it up on your computer first and just copy everything in the userdata folder over. As long as all your sources are network locations, it should work just fine.
