Hi Guys,

Well here is my first post. I had loads of fun installing my new media centre on the weekend. I came to watch something last night and found the 1080p payback to be a little jumpy. Below is my config. I have done a stock install of Ubuntu 11.04 and below are my hardware details

Sapphire E350M1 White pure fusion
2GB RAM
1TB Seagate HDD

I am thinking of going the route of installing different AMD/ATI drivers to see if this helps. Anybody else had experience with this kind of setup?

Oh, my media sits on an external USB 2TB drive (not sure if this will be slow with playback)

I am playing normal Xvid (not HD or 720p or anything like that) from the external drive.

Thanks
Well, I decided to install new drivers last night for the ATI card. Seems a lot better now.

Will keep this thread updated if anything else happens.
you need VAAPI. There are a few helpful threads about this on this forum
