Hey everyone.

i did something very stupid today. I tried to install the spotifyxbmc alpha 14 plugin found at http://github.com/akezeke/spotyxbmc/downloads not realizing that the last update was over a year ago and seems to be no longer compatible with xbmc.

now when i try to run xbmc i get the following error:

brooney@uub:~$ xbmc
/usr/lib/xbmc/xbmc.bin: error while loading shared libraries: libfaad.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

anybody have any suggestions on how i can uninstall and clean up my system?

does anyone know if spotifyxbmc2 works well?
I did the same mistake today trying to make spotify work on XBMC on my ubuntu 11.10.
I got the same error as you. I reseted my XBMC setup by returning to the original version of /usr/lib/xbmc/xbmc.bin :
sudo mv /usr/lib/xbmc/oldxbmc.bin /usr/lib/xbmc/xbmc.bin
If someone managed to get it to work on ubuntu it would be nice to share with us.
Thanks.
the correct repository for the last version is this one: https://github.com/akezeke/spotyxbmc2
