I have AP2, XBMC installed, works great, all DVDRIPs and R5/R9 videos and even DVD quality videos work perfectly.

For HD (720p,1080p) dont seem to work stuttering and not smooth,

In order to fix this( if there is any solution)

is there anything I need to do in terms of settings (router, ATV2, other)

or

use Hardware

Thanks in advance for help!

use h.264 encoded material for everything which is bigger then dvd resolution and you'll be fine. Beside that ethernet should be prefered before wlan - and wlan (if really needed) should be at least wlan N ...
I have plenty of 720P (and some 1080P) films and I run it over wifi (N) and can watch a whole film with no stuttering at all. Just got to tinker with everything until it's right but a good router (and definately N networking) helps.
There is one 1080p mp4 I downloaded from one of videodevil sites. It says it is h.264 with aac encoded. If I try to play that file, xbmc crashes. Is it because jobs didn't want porn on his idevices? Smile
Yes

typo, "use h.264", that means play h264 video content.
