Memphiz Wrote:don't mixup issues ... its all about mp3 id3tag crashing in here ... muciclibrary looks like a typo in your used skin?
Sorry about that, I was just trying to help.
On a separate note, it's being crashed on .m4p as well, which doesn't support the ID3-tag theory. But 90% of the time it's due to mp3s I believe. Cheers!!
could you guys test this version please and report back if this changes anything according to the music crashes?

Hi Memphiz,

It's appeared to be working. Few of the mp3s, which previously didn't work, now being added to the library. Looks like a workaround to me, so far.

BTW, should it also change the new Eden-beta splash screen as well? Cheers!!

Is there anything more patch-like I can try. Never used a .deb package before, not sure where I'd even start on a ATV2, but I assume that would require a complete re-install which I'd rather avoid at the moment.

Is there a particular file I can just overwrite/edit? Or are too many binaries affected?
The easy-way:
Copy & paste the lines below in the ATV2 terminal window and press enter, one-by-one

Code:
wget http://dl.dropbox.com/u/30371861/org.xbmc.xbmc-atv2_10.0-9_iphoneos-arm-id3tagtest.deb
dpkg -i org.xbmc.xbmc-atv2_10.0-9_iphoneos-arm-id3tagtest.deb

First one downloads the .deb package and the last one installs it. That's all and every thing should be taken care of. Cheers!!

Just out of curiosity, what the difference(s) in this version than Eden beta? Cheers!!
Same as before again ... reverted a patch for fixing getting id3tag comments. So this might fix the crash - but on some id3tags comments don't get parsed right now.

The fix for comments isn't faulty at its own - it just seems to unleash a bug in libid3tag which we don't see without it. And we just don't get the hands on it.

The splash is the master splash ... so don't look at it. Eden b1 branch is freezed - i just can't make testbuilds from it. Just don't care about it Wink

More feedback of the others needed plz.

Can i install xbmc 10.0.9 over the eden beta or do i have to delete the former xbmc version?
just put these commands in ... you don't need to worry if you downgrade or upgrade ... both is possible...

One thing I found a bit strange - XBMC can't find/display the album art form the metadata for a number of files, where as, for example iTunes, shows them correctly. Those files are/were just fine in the previous releases of the XBMC. Cheers!!

I'm sorry that I posted into the other thread. Google took me there...

Anyways: your new .deb is now scanning via SMB for about 15 minutes. It seems to have fixed the issue. Great job! Thanks!

Now I hope that playing the songs won't crash xbmc as it did with the UPnP source songs...

Best Regards
Frank

all seems to be working.
music is being scanned in with no crashes. seems to be a bit faster, too. could be just me though.
Might be fast if you use nfs - i improved something in that corner ... mhh have to talk to the devs again ... man what a crazy bugger...

Sorry i won't take any other bug reports here. This is a testbuild which isn't done by official buildbots (but by my fat fingers...) and only supposed to check the id3tag mp3 crash. So you have to wait for beta2 - and if the bug is still there - then make a new thread out of it.

Well I posted to soon because after working for much longer then it ever has it failed again. I will try and get a crash report together for more info.
