I have tried installing xbmc live from a cd, and i get the error 'detect and mount cd-rom' no common cd drive was detected.

thats running of a cd in a usb caddy.

#ive also tried making a usb boot install disc, and oddly get the same message.

Any ideas?

losing rag very rapidly.

solved it by plugging in a sata dvd drive, directly to the MB.
