I like to have video playing while listening to music.

So far I have been using an AppleTV for my music, and a Mac Mini with XBMC for my videos, but I would like to switch to using XBMC as my sole media center.

I have searched the forums as best as I could, and could not find out if this was even possible.

Even if it is not possible to do within XBMC, does anyone know of a way I could run an app in the background that would allow me to select a single source to get audio from, and possibly do this remotely (maybe through a web server)?

It seems like it would be such a simple thing to do, surely it is possible.
no, xbmc is not a vegematic.
Might be able to play one with an external player, and the other within xbmc....

Not sure though.
I found a solution for any interested parties (or just posterity)

I don't mind streaming my music from my laptop, so I just set up airfoil speakers on my MacMini running XBMC, and leave that running in the background. Any time I want to watch video with music in the background, I simply mute XBMC and stream my audio to Airfoil running in the background.

I knew it could be done simply.
