Does this work? If anyone can give me some insight into the basic set up it would be very appreciated. I've spent two days trying and failing. I believe the problem lies in the MySQL DB settings of MythTV and my XBMC Settings.
thanks
I´m going to try this myself as soon as i can buy an ATV2.
Right now i´m running XBMC on a Win7 connected to my Mythbackend via LAN.
Also an XBMC-client on my Myth Front/Backend for better interface than Mythfrontend.
The windowsversion of XBMC did not want to talk to MythTv ver 0.24.nn so
i reinstalled a complete Mythbuntu 10.10 which has MythTv 0.23.1, then checked mysql.txt for password to the database, entered this in XBMC and it worked.
Starting tv-stream takes awful amount of time, regardless of local / lan-connected XMBC.
Which version are you running on your MythBackend?
What does mythbackend.log say during the time you are trying to connect from ATV2?
