I've got a Zotac ZBOX ID40-U on order, and I'm looking at XBMC as the best HT option, but I have some questions.
I see that XBMC Live uses a minimal Ubuntu install, but is the install set to use real-time kernel, like Ubuntu Studio? If not, would there be any issues with using XBMC on Ubuntu Studio over XBMC Live that I would need to account for?
Also, whichever route I take, I was planning on using OSS4 over the ALSA/PulseAudio/OSS3 legacy audio stack jumble that Ubuntu ships with. I prefer clean implementations, and the stock audio solution does not appeal to me. Has anyone installed OSS4, and is there any documentation to support this setup?
Thanks!
