crazy thing:
could be possible to use a PS3 DVD/BR drive with XBMC ?
Goal would be: phisically insert media in a powered on PS3, which "leases" its drive to XBMC via Gigabit LAN. Every command (play, pause, volume) is issued to XBMC.

XBMC doesn't have decrypting capabilities for Blu-ray so even if the PS3 could "lease" it's drive (which I don't think it can do), XBMC couldn't play the disk.

Actually I'd be perfectly fine with DVD - lease capability (I just mentioned BR in a precision effort :p )

I don't think the PS3 can export the disc drive in any way regardless of the media that is inserted...
