Environment:

Server: Win2008R2 + 90GB SSD (OS) + RAID6 NAS
HTPC1: Custom PC + Windows7
HTPC2: Zotac Box w/OpenElec
HTPC3: Zotac Box w/OpenElec
HTPC4: Zotac Box w/OpenElec
XBMC: Dharma + AEON Showmix. Not upgraded to v11 since I am not sure if the skin works OK with it.


Questions:

1. Should I install MySQL to the SSD drive or to the RAID6 volume?
2. Do I *have* to install XBMC to my server in order to sync other folders besides the database (thumbnails, etc)?
3. I have SmartPlaylists working, but I don't mind re-configuring them to work with the new shares. Do I just create
the advanced settings.xml file and manually configure everything again? (Sources, playlists, etc)?

2. no, XBMC isn't required at all on the "host/server" computer
