Ok all so I have recently purchased the following remote.

http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title...ion_HDX_Remote

Mine is the latest version with the coloured buttons up the top. I know how to map certain actions to key bindings through the wiki as I have been messing around with it a bit.

However my problem is I am not sure what the actual buttons are called to be able to bind them in the <remote> section. For example I want to bind the green button in the middle, the coloured buttons and the guide / info button.

While I have event ghost running, it often doesn't pick up the remote input properly so instead of issuing a command it waits for me to push it again to get the right command. I want to try with key bindings but no idea where to start, how do you work out when you push a button what signal it is sending to the IR receiver? Cheers!

EventGhost isn't working perfectly so I want to try it without the app in the background, the tutorials I've read are a bit confusing Sad
The usual way of using the HP remotes is to configure them to emulate a keyboard. You can do this either with the MCERemote Add-on or EliteGamer360's scripts. See http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=Usi...in_Windows. Once you've done this the remote will work in XBMC without needing Eventghost. If you want to customise the button actions grab KeyMapEdit from http://xbmcmce.sourceforge.net/.

In XBMC v10.1 the MCERemote add-on won't configure the Play/Pause button, but if you install the Eden beta the Eden flavour MCERemote will configure this button.
