As the title suggest, I am a total newbie to all of this!
I have been trying now for 2 days to get my apple tv 2 with xbmc (11.0) to find a folder on my win 7 pc for video playback.
I have removed live assistant and have set my network settings to the following
network discovery on
file printer sharing on
turn on sharing so anyone with network access can read/write files in public folders
media streaming off
use 128 bit encryption
turn off password protected sharing
When I go to xbmc, I select video then files then add videos.
I then select browse and find windows network smb, select workgroup, select DAVE-PC, and the folder HD - and I am then presented with Lock settings screen with the username (xbmc), password etc. I am stuck here!!
I have tried setting up a username on the pc and selecting that, and I have also set the sharing permissions to everyone on the folder.
Any help would be much appreciated, thanks.
