I'm getting a Acer Revo R3700 and considering XBMCbuntu for it.

The first question that comes to mind, can I run it totally off the USB Stick?

If not what would the recommended size of a HDD needed to install?

just for XBMCbuntu most would recommend an SSD nowadays ....you could get away with even a 16gb
i would prob go with a 30gb just in case
