As far as spec, it come down to Lenovo Q180 vs. Acer Revo RL70....to me, Q180 looks nicer.....!

And ati vs nvidia makes no difference in choice? I would like to try to boot straight into xbmcbuntu for the wife's sake

For xbmcbuntu, you might have easier time with Nvidia graphic card. What happen with Windows? XBMC+Windows 7 is as good as it get, and you can customize XBMC startup with this guide-

You make the call: here are the spec Intel Atom 2700 (2.13GHz dual-core+AMD HD6450A) vs. AMD E450 (1.65GHz dual-core+HD6320).....

For the same price, go for the system with better spec.....in this case, Lenovo Q180 got my vote......
To answer my own question ,
I went for a Lenovo Q180 and a Xenta Wireless Keyboard/Trackpad and its real nice kit for the money...
Havent done any HD tests yet but flash works real nice and XBMC works a treat
(with Confluence skin at least)

I am just about to buy one of these but wanted to check it works ok with OpenElec Intel or generic builds? I am currently running a Revo 3700 with a OpenElec Ion build.

The Q180 is on sale right now for $330. I'm debating on this vs. a brand new Revo RL70 on Craigslist for $250.
It doesn't need to be fast, or do anything online. It won't even be connected to a network. Strictly playback of 720p .mkv Disney cartoon BluRays via XBMC under Windows 7, connected via HDMI to a 50" LED TV.
What's the consensus?
