Hi all,

I've just finish installing XBMC Eden and I notice my remote control is not working as expected. The mapping doesn't work. After from debug, I find out XBMC is not receiving any lirc signal byt plain keycode (like keyboard keydown, keyup). Using the command line 'irw' I also notice no signal is receive by lirc. I really suggest to add a section in the Eden FAQ

Why my remote control mapping doesn't work ?

XBMC Eden v11.0 is shipped with a new kernel version which change the way your remote control is supported. Most of the remote controls is not supported directly by the linux kernel it self instead of lirc. See http://wilsonet.com/?page_id=95. For this reason, your remote control mapping may not work as expected since the mapping between lirc and xbmc is not required. XBMC will receive plain keycode.
Sounds like a good addition. I'm happy to add anything to the wiki if people don't feel comfortable directly editing it, but just so you know, anyone is free to edit it directly :)
Me again,

I didn't want to create a new post since my problem is related to the previous mention facts. Linux 3.0 is supporting my remote control (Soungraph iMon Pad) and so, I don't need lirc. I really like it since because it's required less configuration and work out of the box. Still, some of the button are not working in XBMC. e.g.: Language button. In the kernel, the job is done right, the key is map to KEY_LANAGUAGE (0x170, in decimal: 368). The problem seams to be realted to Xserver not forwarding the keycode properly to XBMC.

Any tips for me ?

When I press the button here is the output in /var/log/syslog

Using showkey:
keycode 370 press
keycode 370 release

In XBMC log (in debug mode) there is nothing
Same using xev, there is nothing.
