Those British Tabloids - how does anyone believe a story which is surrounded by pictures of tits? I thought the click bait on the NZ newspaper sites were bad!

Just wanted someone to see this at Kodi...
Here is the kind of stuff that will hurt us honest users:
(link removed - this is not news - natethomas)
These guys say they don't condone pirating, but how the hell do you sell this on a site and quote:
"Tickbox TV™ is legal. It does not archive, host, store or distribute any kind of media or content. Tickbox TV™ is only a directory or library of content which is hosted by third parties on the internet. The Tickbox TV™ acts as a receiver, allowing you to access streams and play them on your television. It does not download anything. Tickbox TV™ does not condone parties who pirate or download copyrighted media and this box is not to be used for such purposes. Tickbox TV™ is 100% legal. It is legal to stream content. It is illegal to download copy written material."
The average consumer is ignorant on this stuff and says "Yeah, free TV and Movies, why not!"

Either way they've probably made a fortune selling these boxes to unsuspecting punters.

They look like a nice little box, apart from the piracy addons. Any idea how much they cost? It looks very like my Scishion s905X box (and the remote is identical) which I got for approx $50US.

The Independent have published a short piece on the back of Nate's blog post, but have disappointingly plastered a disingenuous headline over the story.
"KEEP USING KODI TO WATCH PIRATED FILMS AND TV SHOWS FOR FREE SAYS COMPANY"

Same in the Daily Mail today
"In a statement on the landmark ruling, Nathan Betzen, community and project manager for Kodi, said: 'We are developers and not the police, and we have no interest in acting as police for our own software.
'Kodi will remain as free and as open as it always has. Feel free to continue using Kodi however you want."

The rough equivalent of "Keep using hammers to commit domestic abuse and murder people, says Black and Decker."
