And, if I want to rename just a single file quickly (e.g., while you are manually scraping some single movies), just for manually changing the year of the movie or so, can I do it somehow in the browser or the table or so? Or would I do it also with that renaming function?

Many thanks again.

Ah, well, and showing only the unscraped / none found videos?

There is no way of doing this in Media Companion, for an un-scraped movie. If the movie is scraped, and you don't want to rename the whole video file using Media Companion's naming convention, you will have to do this in Windows Explorer. You can right-click the movie in the browser tab, and select "Open Folder" to open it in Explorer.
Note: If the file has been scraped, you have to name the ancillary files (nfo, images) in the same format as the Video file. Or Delete the files and scrape the movie fresh. Remember to refresh Media Companion's Movie list before scraping.

There isn't a way of show un-scraped movies. If a movie is scraped, but it can not be found on IMDB or TMDB, it is listed in the Browser Tab. To search for these movies, under General Filter, select the entry "UnScraped". This will list all movies that could not be found. Another possibility is to check "Duplicates" also in the General Filter.
OK, I understand, thank your vey much.

Hmmm, sorry, I cannot find this general filter, very sorry for that.

And how could I avoid these messages: http://i.imgur.com/DbT4pKK.png?

Many thanks again.

See this post.

As for you message. Either Refresh all Movies, this will remove that movie from Media Companion database, or in Movie Preferences -> General tab just above the "apply changes" button , select the option "Include Missing Video Files"
How should I name folders VOB files are stored in, two episodes per folder:

Columbo (s02e01) Étude in schwarz - Columbo (s02e02) Blumen des Bösen
Columbo (s02e03) Wenn der Eismann kommt - Columbo (s02e04) Alter schützt vor Torheit nicht
Columbo (s02e05) Klatsch kann tödlich sein - Columbo (s02e06) Zwei Leben an einem Faden
Columbo (s02e07) Schach dem Mörder - Columbo (s02e08) Doppelter Schlag

Is there one VOB file in the folder, or multiple.

If one VOB, then name it S02E01E02.vob
Else I believe you have to name the folder S02E01E02

Mutiple, so multiple per episode.

Quote:If one VOB, then name it S02E01E02.vob
I would have thought these VOB files refer to each other and to other files so the names must be keept, but it obviously is not like that.

I am extremely sorry, but I cannot find the "General Filter", it looks like - on the screen shot - as if it were at the bottom, left in the main browser, but there I cannot find any.

I do not want remove these movies from the data base, they are still there, but on an external drive, which is not plugged in at the moment. "Include Missing Video Files" is enabled now, but the message still appears.
So your talking about full DVD files, .ifo, .bup etc in one folder, and one folder is Two episodes. Rename the folder is the format: SxxExxExx etc.
You can put as many Exx after the Sxx as there are episodes.

As for the General Filter. It may be minimized.

If that be the case, try and dbl-click the minimized bar, it may pop back up, or you have to right-click, select Configure Movie Filters and select the General Filter. Note where the arrow is, this is where you need to right-click.

Last chance is to edit the config.xml file. Close Media Companion, and edit this line
Code:
<filter name="cbFilterGeneral" tag="0" visible="True" QuickSelect="False" />
Make sure visible = "True"
I guess, I have to live without that filter, I didn't get the filter to appear, nor by double clicking, pulling neither by editing the xml (in folder "Settings") file: http://i.imgur.com/EyjtvlR.png & http://i.imgur.com/tukgnN9.png
Very strange.

OK, thank you, I will try it.

One other edit you can do in config.xml (remember to exit MC before editing),
Find this line
Code:
<splitcontainer5>618</splitcontainer5>
and whatever value you have in there, subtract 26 from it, and put in the result.
Open Media Companion and see if the General Filter is now present.
Thank you, vbat99,

Ah, now it works, I have tried again and right clicked some times again in that area and suddenly this context menu has appeared.

Many thanks again.
Hi
I used media companion for along time and really liked it, but I ran into a problem that if one trailer would fail all other trailers wouldent play even though they worked before( I´m talking about trailer links here) So I started looking for alternatives and here 3 weeks later I´m back to MC Wink and the new update and everything works like a charm but I am curious about why the second plot on Imdb is used for plot instead of the first one, since the first tends to be better ? Test with 10.000 BC.

I have no understanding off how xbmc works so please forgive about asking but most other scrapers use the plugin// infront of their trailer links how come you dont ?

I gues thos is a feature request.
I really miss an original title field in edit movie I know there is a drop down but still.

But thank you for this piece of software I kind of like I ended back here again

Hi and thanks for coming back to Media Companion.

In regards to which plot MC uses, I had a quick look at the code, and it collects the largest Plot to addition to the movie's nfo. It may be possible to have this selectable, ie: an option to use largest Plot, or First found plot.

I am not sure why we don't use the plugin:// before the trailer. It may be due to being able to play the trailer from Media Companion, but this also can be altered. I'll do some experiments and see how XBMC exports a Movie with Trailer nfo.

As for playing one trailer that failed, and no other would play. This may be due to the media player having locked up, and stuck. An experiment would be to see if the media player is still running in Windows Task Explorer, and killing it there, then see if another trailer plays. But that's a guess.
Is ther a special way you should add folders to MC you have stored only music (videos) in? Add it to movies or series?

Music Video's are currently supported...currently.....Watch this space.
Suppose there is a home without any PC, Notebook or something simlilar, but with a Mult Media Player only. Is there a way you could prepare (export to one or more files or so, text file, images etc.) the movie, series information you could read them on that Mult Media Player, displayed on a TV?
