Full Version: RESOLVED - 3 problems - Wrong movie names, sets are wrong, titles wrong

I recently upgraded to XBMCbuntu Eden 11.0 and I have a few problems with movie names, and with sets.

First off, I follow a STRICT naming convention. I have a Movies folder, inside it are individual folders containing each movie.
The movie folder name, movie file, and .nfo are all consistent with my naming convention.
Example - inside my "movies" folder is a folder called "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (1966)" inside that is "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (1966).avi" and "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (1966).nfo"
the .nfo only contains a link to the IMDB page for The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (1966).
The title comes up in Spanish in my library.
I have verified the IMDB link is correct.

My second issue is with movie Sets creating sets where they don't belong.
Example: it created a movie set which contains Mallrats, and Zack and Miri Make a Porno.
The set title is a random string of letters, its not even a wordHuh
I also have 2 versions of Avatar, one in 3D and another standard.
It created an Avatar Collection....
My movie sets which i intentionally create all have the following in the .nfo:

<movie>
<title>moviename</title>
<set>Collection</set>
<sorttitle>Collection#</sorttitle>
</movie>

My 3rd issue is when I have specific movie names in the .nfo. As i have some directors cuts, extended cuts, etc... i wanted those to show in the Library.
The titles i specify in the .nfo no longer work for some of my movies.

I'm at a loss as to what is happening. I would expect things to function with consistency, as every file in my collection is consistent with naming and the .nfos are all verified.

Has something changed with the way NFOs are read by Eden?

This is probably because you have checked the "Keep original name" box in source setting for the folder. I've have the same the title does not appear in library if I dont check this setting.

And I think that youre The Good, the Bad and the Ugly came up like this Il buono, il brutto, il cattivo which is the Italian original title.

Didn't work for me. I made the change, removed the movie from the library, cleaned the database, and updated my Library. It came back as Il buono, il brutto, il cattivo.

Is there any way to force XBMC to only create sets when it is specified in the NFO?
I was under the assumption that the NFO over ruled everything else and would always be used for titles, sets, etc...
I have found a few other "sets" that XBMC created on its own, and i want tho eliminate this inconsistency in my Library.
Bump.

I'm still having this problem.

Disable the option in die Video Section...

No that just disables the displaying of movie sets.

the NFO should overrule it yes

I know the NFO "should" overrule it, but it isn't.
Sets are also being created that make no sense at all and are not specified in any NFO on my system.
Virtually all scrappers and sites have Il buono, il brutto, il cattivo as the title... Usually you will see the english title as an alternative title.

A few of the spaghetti westerns do this.

I generally scrape my movies, export the libraries (saving files to their "movie" folders...). This will create an editable NFO for each movie, then I will edit the nfo for the title (or other errors) I want, remove movie from library and scrape again to import nfo info. The other benefit to this is you can pretty much erase your library as needed without having to do all the edits again.

Or you could use a media manager/nfo generator like Ember.
I do have an NFO for each movie, and I specify title and set information in the NFO.
My problems are from the NFO being ignored and from sets being created on their own (no set specified in any nfo)

before Eden i never had this problem - sets are being handled different somehow.

Use the universal scraper and disable the 'get movie sets from themoviedb' option. Then sets will only get imported if you have them in NFO files.

For your first issue with The Good, the bad, and the ugly, set the preferred title language in the scraper to USA / International.

Thank you, very much.
This seems to have resolved 99.9% of my issues.
I still have 2 movies that refuse to co-operate and go into the set I specify, but at least I no longer have phantom sets.
