So, it's all not fun in Apple TV land right now.

I've got a friends ATV2 I'm jailbreaking which keeps spitting error 1600. Blah, whatever, I'll fix it of f*#k it soon enough.

But in the process of messing with his, I had to unplug mine. Mine is running 4.4.4 (5.0.1) and has been running fine. After plugging mine back in it won't boot up. The AppleTV process just keeps restarting and dying, along with a ReportCras process. (I can still SSH in to TOP).

I can't find the shsh blobs for this device, so can anyone think of a way of fixing this without re-jailbreaking?

Any ideas welcome.....

I had a similar problem, and also didn't have the shsh blobs saved for that appletv. Unfortunately I was had already restored to 4.2.1 before discovering you can use iFaith to get the blobs from the jailbroken device and the use that binary to rejailbreak/restore the appletv. (You can't use sea0nsnow then), but either ifaith or some companion software from the same group can do the jailbreak then.
Thanks, this is actually the process I'm going through with the other ATV2 I have here. The one I'm getting the 1600 errors with. I'd rather not have to re-jailbreak mine, it's a lengthy process, and can only be done with a windows computer, which I have to borrow. It won't work with a VM install of windows.

By the way, the syslog has 44 minutes left to upload as of now, so don't try to grab it yet.
For anyone who has this issue. I Found the fix.

Leave ATV running. Go out. See good band, drink lots of beer. Check ATV next day.

All fixed!

Got to love those crazy fix it fairies.
Well, my atv now has the same problem. It was working fine, then I exited xbmc back to the apple menu and it's now stuck in a loop. Tried a soft and hard reboot to no avail.
It's sunday night so I can't go out and see a band and drink lots of beer, so I have no idea how to fix this.
Ok. A little further investigation reveals.
a) it only crashes if connected to the internet
b) syslog shows:

and then CrashReporter kicks in.
Mine did seem to play up again. I backed up all of my XBMC user data, just in case. Then I completely removed XBMC and dependencies. (apt-get autoclean).

Then a fresh install of XBMC, following the wiki step for step for good measure, and my ATV seems to be stable again. Worth a try.

To note, I only have XBMC installed, if you have any other installs via apt-get it could be worth a try on them too.
Well i had some spare time on my hands, for everyone that did not save his SHSH blobs and has older firmware on their device:

Followed your tut to the tee (I've already tried this method before) and I just keep getting error 1600. I'll try to get a different cable, but if that fails, I give up.....
Different cable, same 1600 error. On multiple computers. Bugger it, looks like 5.1.1 it is.....
So it looks like other people have had this problem, and there's a solution, but no-one knows exactly what causes it nor what fixes it.

If that was for me, I can't right now. Got to sleep, up for work at 0430hrs. But maybe tomorrow. I'm on GMT +10 here.

Anyway, don't want to turn this into a jail breaking thread.

After looking through, my issue seems to be related to a dependency problem with Nito or XBMC. If you get stuck in a reboot loop, SSH in and remove either or both of those, then re-install and you should be fixed.

Good info for future.
