Hello,

I've recently installed Xbmcbuntu and I can't get any joy at all with my remote!

IRW at the command line gives me:

000000037ff05be0 00 Down mceusb_hauppauge
000000037ff05be0 01 Down mceusb_hauppauge
000000037ff05bde 00 Right mceusb_hauppauge
000000037ff05bde 01 Right mceusb_hauppauge
000000037ff05bdc 00 Back mceusb_hauppauge
000000037ff05bdc 01 Back mceusb_hauppauge
000000037ff05bdc 02 Back mceusb_hauppauge
000000037ff05bdc 00 Back mceusb_hauppauge
000000037ff05bdc 01 Back mceusb_hauppauge
000000037ff05bdc 02 Back mceusb_hauppauge
000000037ff05bf2 00 Home mceusb_hauppauge
000000037ff05bdd 00 OK mceusb_hauppauge

So the receiver is working and recognises the buttons but XBMC doesn't do anything at all! - Anyone any ideas I've been tearing my hair out over this.

Also I have the exact same remote working fine on another unit Eden running ontop of 10.10 - Are there any files I can just copy across?

LIRCMAP.XML doesn't seem to exist on either unit either?

Thanks
Right it turns out I do have an LIRCMAP.XML, I was looking in the wrong place doh!

I've changed for example <left>Left</left> to <left>Left mceusb_hauppauge</left> so that it matches the IRW output - Is that correct? In any case it hasn't made any difference.
Right - Fixed it - Had to change <remote device="mceusb"> to <remote device="mceusb_hauppauge"> - also realised what I did in Post #2 wasn't correct to reversed that and it works fine now! Thanks All!
No you need to have it as just "left"

I fixed mine in a slightly messy way but copying the lircmap.xml to 3 locations!

/home/*****/.xbmc/system
/home/*****/.xbmc/userdata
/usr/share/xbmc/system
The weird thing is I had exactly that remote and those LIRC config files working on an older XBMC system running on 10.10 and has been for over a year so something must have changed in Oneric in the way the receiver was recognized by the OS?
Yeah something has definitely changed. So I am going to roll back and see what the settings were when it worked. Back up the files and not run any updates. Will hopefully work
