It's a very welcome feature, but pressing e.g. down for 1 second it will go down some 12 items. Is there a configuration to reduce repeat speed somewhere?

This is not appletv2 related but a general issue. I move you to the general section for getting some attention.

It's just hard to believe that in other devices this ridiculous speed happens. I assume it's just an ATV2 kink that needs some ironing out.

Nope its same on linux me believe me...
