Got tired of popcorn &c., never playing my dts-hd tracks right, having problems with subtitles and them never getting off their asses and fixing these problems. So XBMC it is, since I wanted a nice movie wall and not just a boring file list. So here we go Smile

If you want more details just ask!

Parts out of the shipping boxes (i3-2105, 27mm tall cpu cooler, NT-MC400i/BD case, ASRock B75M-ITX and 8 gigs of ram. SSD not in the picture but it was my old 32G OCZ something)

Motherboard, CPU and RAM in. Last chance to take a tidy picture.

SSD and cabling in, not so tidy any more but tried!

Casing closed, looking good again. Shiney!

The end result. The box is at the bottom centre, the one with white circle.

Great looking case!
Too bad it's not available everywhere in the world...
Indeed it is.

On the other hand none of the cases listed in the guides in this forum aren't available here Smile
Very Nice! Appreciate the pictures. Looks like you're really enjoying your new system.
Lovely build...

Where did you bought the case and the cpu cooler from? (its from sure-link right?)

Do you hear any noise (from the case or cpu) while playing 1080p stuffHuh

Is the case getting warm while playing (1080p ofc Smile )
I am curious your impression of the PCCooler S85 (that's the heatsink).
Ah I live in Japan so everything is from Akiba or Amazon.co.jp, mostly amazon... about the same price and next day delivery to the next door.

The noise stays pretty much the same regardless the content, but even my aircon makes more noise than it so it's a non-issue. When the winter comes I might have a different opinion Tongue Nevertheless it's quite silent, I'd be happy to go fanless but it's not really an option. Case gets warm but not hot. I really like it though, the front led ring could be dimmer but actually the placement in my system makes it a non-issue.

I'm thinking about underclocking the cpu the push down the heat. 3.1GHz is a massive overkill for full bitrate blurays with hd audio.

The heatsink is fine, pretty standard fare. That's the almost noiseless part of the system... I'm not so impressed of the standard case fan but the noise quality coming from the box is not really the disruptive kind.

Here's the full shopping list from Amazon for the curious (excluding the ocz vertex 1 which I already had): Smile

Thank you for the information on the PCCooler S85. It looks like a great low-profile heatsink. I have been thinking of importing some since they are not available here in the USA.
There were a few other options for a low-profile fan available for me but this was easily $30 cheaper and had good reviews so I just went for it. 27mm high cpu fans seem to be darn difficult to find :/

What are your temps?

Just came home so installed coretemp and left it in the background when watching some LoTR BR remuxes and other high-bitrate content. Cores went all the way to 70C Cool

Edit: Ambients were around 30C
Isnt 70 a bit toooooooo much?
It's the tradeoff you make for having a small and quiet system. As long as nothing melts you're good. I have to imagine a laptop is a more hostile environment than that little case.
Cool case.... thanx.
Dont know if the new ivy i3 are cooler..
I must admit that i really like the looks of the case..
Btw r u using windows 7 or openelec?
Which remote u use btw?
