No stereo sound via HDMI
My setup: XBMCBuntu 11.0 Eden, Zbox ID80 HDMI -> Pioneer VSX-1121K receiver -> Samsung LED TV (HDMI)
I also added an optical TOSLINK cable for S/PDIF (more on this later) to experiment
I'm a XBMI newbie, but a Linux old timer. Love XBMC, but I'm pulling my hair out trying to:
1. Get stereo sound working. Currently all DD 5.1 and DTS videos work over HDMI, but anything with 2.0 stereo has NO sound when played, including MP3 and menu sounds.
2. HDMI sometimes gives static sound, so I tried to hook up an optical S/PDIF, and tried configuring output to "custom hw:0,1" but absolutely no sound comes through S/PDIF... I tinkered with .asoundrc with no success, so I removed .asoundrc
Please help... thanks in advance.
