I can get Windows 7 Professional 64 bit for half the cost of Home Premium.
Any reason NOT to use Professional with XBMC?

My apologies, your two threads are very similar, but not identical (gist of which is whether Pro will work with XBMC). I had revised my comment just prior to your reply.
You shouldn't have a problem I am using win 7 home basic with mine I chose it for the less features installed to keep the machine as light as possible
Windows 7 x64 Ultimate works fine also. If Home Basic and Ultimate work, I would wouldn't see why Professional doesn't.
7 pro 64bit here, all good.
