I've got a specific set of encodes that always drop frames. VDAPU is enabled and working. My experience with xbmc goes back to original xbox days just can't figure this oddity out.

Working: 99% of what I throw at my system works fine. Everything generally from xvids to blueray 24.9Mbps rips.

Not Working: 4,000 kpbs stream, 1280x720 (16:9), at 59.880 fps, AVC([email protected])(CABAC / 4 Ref Frames) [According to mediainfo]

Only thing I notice that stands out is the high fps. These are sports encodes. CPU use isn't excesivley high (50-60%).
On what hardware?

I can't play 59fps h.264 on my ION 1 (Atom 330), but I can on my ION2 (GT 21x series).
It's an intel C2D with a gtx 460se
My ION2 setup has problems with playback as well
Can you provide a sample of a nonworking file?
Definitely not your hardware then, try mkvmerge with the split command to make some samples.
