Hello all, I have a fresh install of windows vista 64 bit with an ATI 5450. I installed xbmc and when I try to play a movie the screen is black and only audio comes out. The weird thing is when I go back to the main menu the movie starts to play correctly in the background. I know its not the movie because when I play it in vlc it works fine. I searched and found others with the similar problem but no solution. Anyone know what's going on?

I already read and tried everything in that thread before I posted with no luck. Also, it looks like that thread was never resolved.

Ok I have found a work around to the issue but still no solution. I set up VLC as an external player so I am able to use the XBMC interface and get a video to play correctly through VLC. This work around kind of takes away from the coolness of XMBC I think. For example, when making menu changes having the video play in the background. Also, not being able to use the XMBC player GUI is a downer, but this is better than nothing I think.
