Good news for you boys about Semirec IR
I can now turn it on and off with my Logitec Harmony One :-) :-) :-)
Use pin 2 as 5V+ and pin 3 as 5V-
There was only 4,62V between pin 2-3, but is working OK
I can point my Logitech backwards, even then it starts ;-)
Case now drilled in the bottom right corner watch pic below
Switch off video at dropbox

Thanks so much for doing this. This is for the Simerec PCS-1, correct?

zOlid
TV is set to 60 Hz
If I dont use these I notice alot of flickering in the image.
Id do however not get how to find a setup like this? Try and error maybe?
What settings are you using?
Thanks very much for the info, copied those settings and have now got the videos to play back ok and am getting HD Audio!
However am still noticing very visible screen tearing for some reason? Have tried setting my refresh rate on my desktop to 24p, 50 and 60 Hz but doesn't seem to make a difference.
UPDATE - OK looks better now I forgot to enable vertical synch which seemed to sort the tearing! I have left off the hardware acceleration DXVA2 as it causes blocking across the picture when its switched on for some reason?

or do I definitely want to get an i3?
The Celeron will do heavy skins no problem. Get the i3 if you plan on doing gaming, need hardware video encoding, need to play frame packed 3d blu ray iso's in windows, or have a lot of 1080p 10bit anime. The Celeron is sweet, and about $165.00 right now at newegg.
All the NUCĀ“s are very good as a HTPC, get any you like and you will be happy.
Ok, well I just bit the bullet and decided to get the i3 along with 8gb of memory, 64gb ssd, and the wifi addon card. Should all be here tomorrow and I'm pretty excited.
Just finished reading this thread. Thinking of buying the i3 NUC for my home theater but before I do I want to confirm that it can handle 3d blu ray iso? Thanks.

Yes it is for the Simrrec PCS-1 ;-)
Thanks again for trying this out. Much appreciated! Quick Question tho - can you point out which wires go to pins 2 & 3? It appears there are actually 4 wires (brown & black to the power switch connector and purple & black to the PC power supply). Just want to make sure I wire this thing up correctly the first time.
You just answered your own question.
Brown and black to switch pins
Purple and black to pins 2 &3.

Hi everyone,
I'm thinking about getting a Celeron-based NUC, however I still have a question. I read through all the pages and it is my understanding that the Celeron NUC is powerful enough for the heavier xbmc skins, plays 1080p flawlessly (even high bit rate clips) and is capable of bit-streaming DTS-HD MA and DD TrueHD.
However, there were multiple unsanswered requests whether the Celeron can handle 3D-Blu-Ray-Movies (using the proper external players)? If it can't, can the i3 do it?
