It is so *tiny*

Thanks mate!

I was waiting for confirmation before 'upgrading' to a DC3217IYE.

I want the small size, but most importantly I cannot lose bitstream support. Good to hear it's easily supported on OpenELEC too.

Did you use the official Intel build or did you have to use the Metatron build?

I used this: OpenELEC-Intel.x86_64-2.95.5

If people need samples, there were some samples posted in the Asus Transformer Forums at http://android.tnonline.net/Software/Vid...0Software/ ... if the hotd-op-1080p-hi10p.mkv file can play with out any stuttering/sync issues then I'm pretty sure it'd meet my needs.

Many thanks if anyone gets around to testing this.

Man I dunno wtf this 10bit crap is, but it looked to run fine but i had about 50 droped frames for that video. I watched it a few times. I got drop outs every time. I think whoever picked to encode stuff at 10bit didnt know wtf they are doing

Wouldn't surprise me if they didn't, haven't really been too happy with anime communities switch to 10bit but what ya gonna do. I'm not gonna worry about a few dropped frames if the video itself played fine and the audio stayed in sync. Thanks again for running that through the NUC for me, it's good to get some first hand info.
Im having issues with xbmcbuntu and Intel Nuc. Every bluray i play drops loads of frames on average about 50 per minute of playback. I checked and hardware acceleration is enabled. It seems that one cpu core is maxed out and the rest are about 20-30%. Any suggestions guys?,apart from try windows ;-)

Also wanted to add this section from my log, looks like xbmcbuntu has problems with enabling Hardware Acceleration for Intel NUC HD 4000 graphics

I tried this file on my current HTPC and build of XBMC (built from git master about 10-11 weeks ago) and I get no dropped frames. I'd really like to upgrade to an NUC kit but want to make sure it'll play 10bit correctly.

Definitely agree the move to 10bit was more trouble than it's worth...

Tried hotd-op-1080p-hi10p.mkv sample video - same results - NUC dropped frames and my i7 Desktop did not drop frames.
Its a bad format and no media players made currently even support it. To get decent playback you would need a high powered desktop. No Dune / PCH / WDTV etc can play them correctly. I don't know how well they play on those devices but from what I have heard terribly or not at all.

I find it funny they would adopt a format that no one supports in hardware and it will probably never be supported in hardware.
Can someone check the power usage of NUC and post some experiences with IR remote wake up. TNX
The i3 in the NUC should be able to handle those Hi10P videos. My core2duo mobile 2Ghz 2009 MacBook Pro can, and I'm fairly certain it ranks lower in benchmarks.
Did anybody ever try out one of the CPU intensive skins such as aeon nox? How zippy is it?
I use Aeon Nox 4.0 and it works great, no lag at all
Seems to be a problem with the NUC and Pulse-Eight CEC usb adapter. Both my Sony and Samsung TVs are having problems with the setup. Confused
It works for about 30 seconds and then CEC connects breaks.
