Do you use speedfan , ... or ??
There is no fan in my htpc
sorry, speedfan reads the core temps too!
so how are you reading your cpu temps?

so for an Intel NUC i3 1.8Ghz, 8GB Ram, 128G SSD Hard Drive, Win 8 (64).... which settings would you recommend?
(only using the NUC for HTPC, nothing else)
thanks

PS, and .. stoopidd me, I'm not familiar with 2in-2out??

And I don't know if it fixes your problem?
Better read up if the bios fixes anything
My fanless NUC goes 50c in idle
Thanks but I was thinking of how to update it as I am running openelec and doesent seem like I can download the driver and install directly from xbmc or command line?
50c idle in xbmc isnice. What skin? I have another nuc i3 with aeon nod and idle is close to 70c..

Been trying to figure out how to update the bios but most info seems to be old or outdated. Could annonse point me in right direction for updating the bios(will it help?)?
Get the latest bios (42) from here and put it in a USB-stick and USB-stick to your NUC:
http://downloadmirror.intel.com/22779/eng/GK0042.BIO
When NUC boots, hit F2 and install the 42 bios.
hmmm,.... when I look at CPU temp in System/Hardware ... I get a ?
Is there something, somewhere that has to be enabled in order to see the temp?
Watching a 720p episode gives me 55c when I come back to idle the temperature rises to 60c in 10 minutes.
Using the Aeon Nox skin

Don't use wireless is what we recommend! If you can't do wired. Buy homeplugs!
Thanks for all the help. Didn't realize it would be that easy.. Anyways, it still creeps up to 80c idle using Aeon Nox. Still on the lookout for a suitable skin. I dont know but Ace gives me just as high or even higher temperatures in idle on i3/windows. It does seem a bit better (down to around 70-75c) on the celeron..
And aeon nox doesn't show temps when im using windows. Only the Nuc with openelec shows the temperature inside xbmc.
Watching a 1080p movie with DTS gave me 55c after 90 minutes, when I came back to idle the temperature rises to 60c in 10 minutes.
Using the Aeon Nox skin.
Yesterday I was tweaking the system settings allot.
Affter a hour the temperature reached 70c
Why you guys worried about temps so much? NUCs are designed to happily run at these temps.
