According to the wiki, you can name your subtitles like this for XBMC to detect which language is in them:

Code:
Video File: Movie Name (2006).avi
Subtitle 1: Movie Name (2006).Chinese.idx
Subtitle 1: Movie Name (2006).Chinese.sub
Subtitle 2: Movie Name (2006).Japanese.idx
Subtitle 2: Movie Name (2006).Japanese.sub
Subtitle 3: Movie Name (2006).English.srt
Subtitle 4: Movie Name (2006).French.smi
Subtitle 5: Movie Name (2006).German.ssa

Awesome. But I think I read once that you should be able to name them with only like 2 letters (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO_639-1), like this:

Movie.en.srt
Movie.sv.srt

etc.

But I can't get that to work. It won't detect the language.

Also, what I can remember, there was an option somewhere to specify the default subtitle language. So if XBMC detects the language of my subs, and I have 2 different subs, it will automatically choose the language I prefer (which I set somewhere). Is there an option like that? If so, where?

Looks like that's something in the pipeline: http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid...pid1129734
Thanks for the link to the thread, but unfortunately I am running Eden and can't find the setting they are talking about. I can only specify the interface language under appearance.
