This is my Setup :

Server : Windows Home Server 2011
Connection : 1000 Mb/s

Router Asus RT-N56U and it support 1000 Mb/s

For media center i have : Xtreamer Ultra 2
Openelec 1.95.7 (2.0 Beta 7)
Also is at 1000 Mb/s

Did not had any issue, but now it started.

Issue is :
My movie lag a lots

As this picture :

I see that my cache:0 and B is slowly going toward 0 then i see a nice BUFFERING MESSAGE.

How can i make this not appen Huh?
Huh
Try copying a video file to media center system and playing it from there. Does it lag? If not, then it's a networking issue. What are you using on your media server to access the files on your server? Samba or ... ?

By the way, I'm not sure what to make of your link above. It's just an animated GIF representing on-line (aka "cloud") storage. Is that what you are using to stream your videos rather than your Windows Home Server system? If so, buffering is not out of the question.
hi
during this week i will try to play from the media center.

Link should be fix now.

I use SMB, so i guess its SAMBA.

im just wondering, from the picture that work now, cache: 0, is the cash suppose to go up and not stay at 0 ? like the picture ?

Thanks for your help Smile

neither samba nor nfs are currently cached. There is a PR open that allows this.
So, unless you manually compiled with this patch included, it is normal that the cache is always 0
So what option other then samba or nfs should i choose?

PR you mean possible in next update this is fix?
Hi
doest not lag when i play on Flash drive, only when i play movie with the Network.
Still will like to know how can i put cache bigger so it wont appen that much.
No way its the network, its 1000 mb/s.

Let me know if you know how to achieve this

Also here attach a network test i did :

if you take a good look on those READ results: 57Mbit is very little for a Gbit Ethernet. The Write results look ok

hi
i change few setting, and now im up to 96 Mbit now.
I still have trouble with video that lag, especialy high quality HD movie.
Im thinking about switching Openelec to XBMCbuntu ?

I try this trick also,
create this files advancedsettings.xml and put it in \\SERVER\Userdata

this is the code inside of it :
Code:
<advancedsettings>
  <network>
    <cachemembuffersize>838860800</cachemembuffersize>
  </network>
</advancedsettings>

Still cache is :0, and still lag Sad
Any other suggestion?
