Hi, I have a Logitech 5.1 Z506 and the running XBMC 11.

Surround sound works in Borderlands 2, but when I play mkv files, only stereo.

Various 5.1 surround sounds tried and failed: AC3, Dolby Digital

Tried setting to HDMI but when playing an AC3 encoded file, reverts back to stereo, when playing a Dolby Digital file, says current audio device not supported.

I tried switching audio output devices, still only stereo

Check the following:
1. Set speaker system as 5.1 in sound control panel. Right click volume icon of taskbar>Playback devices > Select speakers> configure to 5.1
2. In xbmc audio settings, select speaker system as 5.1.

1. and 2. were already in the correct options, and for some reason Dolby Digital suddenly works, intermittently will go back to 2.1, very strange, thanks for help anyways
