sorry to clutter this forum with more audio problems, but I ran into a pretty big issue last night. I'm running the xbmc version found in this thread: http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=116996 for my Acer Revo RL70-UR10P (specs found here: http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/model/PT.SJ4P2.001 ) and using HDMI for audio. After going through tons of options of output devices in xbmc's settings, I finally got one that seemed to work and not crash xbmc. The only issue I had initially was that any time the audio stopped (skipping ahead, going through menus, starting a movie/show) when it started again it took a couple seconds to initialize and actually begin producing sound. Not a big deal 99% of the time, so I dealt with it. Last night however I noticed one glaring problem that I can't continue with: audio only comes out of the front 2 speakers. This isn't a big deal in most cases, but as a result, any movie I have with 5.1 audio does not work, since actors voices are typically played through the center speaker. I get background noise, instrumentals, birds chirping, but no dialogue. These videos do not often have a stereo track which I can switch to.

additional info: on xmbcbuntu, have analog output selected in audio settings, changing it to hdmi brings message 'failed to initialize device'. If I can't get it working on this unofficial build I may be willing to go back to the official xbmc repo (assuming someone tells me how Smile ) but I would definitely prefer not to because HD videos stuttered hard on that build; I think I need the AMD optimized stuff to get video to play smoothly.

Please help me troubleshoot this issue Undecided
